To create a variable in oowriter 3.0.0...
Normal variables (i.e. single occurrence)
A normal variable can be inserted into the document. You double click it to edit its value.
- Insert -> Field -> Other.
- Variables tab.
- Set type to 'Set variable'.
- Choose the format.
- Input a name and value.
- Click Insert.
- Double click to edit.
User fields (i.e. repeated occurrences)
A User Field can be inserted in different locations in the document. When you edit one occurrence all other occurrences are updated automatically.
- Insert -> Field -> Other.
- Variables tab.
- Set type to 'User Field'.
- Choose the format.
- Input a name and value (value is optional).
- Click Insert.
- Select the variable in the Selection pane.
- Input a name and value.
- Click Insert.
- Double click to edit.
- From then on you can select the variable and insert it wherever you'd like. Editing one instance of the variable in the document will update all others.
